MAGAZINE FAB: Michelle Obama Covers The Historic August 2011 Issue Of "BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS"

Michelle Obama made a bit of history in the publishing world this month as she became the first public figure to grace the cover of BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS since 1963.  She's also the first woman on the cover.  Deets inside...

Michelle Obama, The First Lady Of The United States, became the first woman and the first public figure to appear on the cover of BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS when she sat for her August 2011 cover.

Mrs. Obama was photographed sitting at a picnic table on the White House lawn while wearing a blue and white floral dress and yellow sweater.

Inside the magazine, she visits with children from Harriet Tubman Elementary in Washington at the White House for a veggie-laden picnic lunch.

As she continues her Let's Move campaign against childhood obesity, she tells the mag,

"Children's habits can be changed so much easier than adults. They don't have control over their diets - we do."

But how does her campaign go over with her husband?

She says,

”I always tease him I’m in better shape than he is. “I can do longer workouts. He’s the President.”

The issue is on magazine racks now.
