Twilight madness took over Comic Con Thursday, as Breaking Dawn stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart arrived to chat about part one of the final story.
In Stephenie Meyer's final book, Stewart's Bella Swan gives birth to Edward Cullen's half-vampire baby, Renesmee. If you've read the book, you know that it's portrayed as a graphic, bloody scene -- and Pattinson, 25, warns fans that's just what we're going to get in the film, as well.
"The birth scene is so different from everything else in the movie," he told the audience. "For a fantasy series it goes quite far. It's hardcore, it's graphic. There's no other way to do it. It was fun."
Adding to the intensity of the scene is Edward's newfound vulnerability.
"You never really get to play Edward in a way that he's literally so aware of his own helplessness," said the brooding star (who was sporting an eye-catching new hairstyle). "Either he's completely in control or pretends he is, but here there's no on else around, and there's nothing he can do and he's just desperate. Normally when that happens, Bella comes in and saves the day. But Bella isn't there ... he's totally annihilated by the situation."
Pattinson's on-and-off-screen love chimed in on the highly anticipated scenes, as well.
"She’s literally choking on blood she’s been drinking, literally out of her mind. It was always in my head that she’s been able to fight harder than anyone because of that little bit in her, literally," the 21-year-old actress said of her character. "And at that part I got to play with having venom run through your veins and start to feel the hell that that is, and that’s after a moment of sheer exuberance of looking at your baby for the first time."
It's almost torturous hearing Rob and Kristen talk about the movie when it's so far away. (It's 118 days to be exact!) But their passion and intensity only makes us more excited for the November premiere. A wedding, a baby, a love scene -- Breaking Dawn is gearing up to be a Twi-hard's dream come true!
